How to Begin a Fitness Routine After Being Sedentary for Years

It’s all well and good to want to get fit, but creating a fitness routine after being sedentary for years is quite a different effort from simply upgrading an existing routine. After you haven’t really done any exercise or lived an active lifestyle for a while, your body isn’t in the type of shape that would allow you to just leap into an intense workout. If you did, you’d place yourself at risk of a range of different potential injuries.

That said, just because you haven’t been working out, it doesn’t mean you can’t build a fitness routine after being sedentary. You just need to know what you’re doing.

Use the following tips to help you to start your own fitness routine after being sedentary for months or even years:

Set a goal

Make it realistic but challenging. The goal should be for getting in shape in a healthy way. Write down your goal and be ready to track your progress. Tracking can be an excellent motivator. You can use a fitness tracker device, a fitness tracking program online such as ShareFit, or even write it down on paper if that’s your preference.

Eat for fitness

If you want to start becoming active again, your diet will need to change along with your activity level. Eating the right foods will give your body the nutrients it needs to perform better. It will help you to manage your weight, lubricate your joints, and heal and strengthen your muscles.

Aim for 30 minutes per day

This doesn’t need to be done all at once. If a 30 minute brisk walk is too much for you to start or if it doesn’t fit your schedule, then go for two 15 minute brisk walks. Just about anybody can work that into their lives. Aim for cardio (like a brisk walk) four to five days per week, strength training two to three times per week and yoga or stretching and balance exercises at least once per week.

Take a healthy weight managment diet pill

Choose a product with researched ingredients that will provide you with fat burners but that will also focus on giving you energy. If you’re not battling with fatigue, you’ll have a much easier time keeping up with your new fitness routine as well as giving it your all once you’re doing it. A product like APEX-TX5 gives you maximum energy through its thermogenic intensifiers.
