When you combine yerba mate or guarana with diuretics like nettle and dandelion, and senna, which is a laxative and isn’t safe for ingestion for longer than one week, you could experience dehydration, gut damage, electrolyte imbalance, and diarrhea.
The Tapeworm Diet involves eating tapeworm eggs so that they will hatch and the worms will act as parasites in your intestinal tract, helping you lose weight. Those who are desperate to lose weight often fall for this dangerous diet. How do people get the worms out of their bodies? They go to their doctor and ask for a prescription to kill the worms. The problem is that some of the eggs that you eat could end up migrating to other parts of your body, leading to potentially fatal issues.
The Grapefruit Diet
This fad diet has been around for a long time, and it basically involves making all of your meals contain grapefruit or grapefruit juice because the fruit has enzymes that burn fat and help you lose as much as 10 pounds in 12 days. In reality, this is a diet that will severely restrict your caloric intake to around 800-1,000 calories per day, depending upon the version of the diet that you follow, and that could lead to other health problems and nutritional deficiencies. Plus, there are several prescription medications that can’t be taken when you eat grapefruit or drink its juice because they interact with one another. And there really isn’t any solid evidence that proves grapefruit has any weight loss promoting abilities, aside from the fact that it’s low in calories.
With so many healthier ways to slim down and shed excess fat, there’s no reason to follow these dangerous diets and put your health at risk.
